The G70 is the seventh-generation 7 Series, from 2022, and the first on which BMW split the headlight in two. A slim upper unit carries the daytime-running light and indicator; the dipped and main beam sit lower down in the apron. What looks like one headlight from outside is two separate components with part numbers of their own.
The upper unit came two ways: full LED, or the Crystal Headlights with Swarovski-cut crystal elements. Off the car they look much alike, but they interchange neither mechanically nor electrically, and the price difference is considerable. Establish which was fitted before buying.
The electric i7 is the same body. BMW does not build it as a separate model but on the G70, so headlights, aprons, doors and most of the interior are common. The differences sit where the drivetrain shows through: cooling, underbody, charge flap.
What we hold for this model is mostly upper headlight units and bumpers — both the first things to go in a front-end impact while the body behind stays intact. The aprons carry the driver-assistance sensors, which need calibrating once refitted.
