The M4 Coupé G82, from 2021, is the twin of the M3 G80: twin-turbo S58, rear- or four-wheel drive, and for the first time in this class an M4 with xDrive. The grille that caused the argument on the G22 is larger still here.
As on the F82 before it, the roof is the defining part. The Competition coupé can be had with a carbon fibre roof and its visible weave; base versions have steel. Both exist side by side, they are not interchangeable, and when buying used that is the first question to settle, not the last.
At the front the G82 is entirely its own car: wider wings, its own bumper, its own grille surround, its own bonnet. Nothing from a G22 fits there. The speakers, brackets, aprons and headlights are G22 items, because no M versions of those were ever made.
Doors and boot lid are shared. Inside, the seats differ — the carbon bucket seats are a subject of their own — along with the steering wheel and instruments; climate panel and electronics come from the 4 Series.
