The G22 is the 4 Series Coupé from 2020, and the car that set off BMW's design argument of the decade: the tall vertical kidney grille. It is not a grille you swap out — it defines the whole front, with bonnet, wings and bumper drawn around it and belonging together.
Mechanically the G22 is a G20 with a wider track and a lower roof. As with the F30/F32 pair before it, that means the bonnet and interior are close relatives while the wings are not, because the wheels sit further out. Speakers, brackets, aprons and headlights are what this model tends to give up.
On this model it is worth knowing which market a part came from. US cars carry side marker lights in the bumper and wing and different headlights — almost identical from the outside, not at all identical electrically or in the cut-out. A US wing on a European car leaves a hole nothing is made to fill.
The G23 Convertible shares the nose and front doors with the coupé, and so does the G26 Gran Coupé. The M4 G82 brings wider wings and its own bumpers.
