The F86 is the X6 M of the F16 generation. An F86 gives up the same parts an F16 does: switches, ignition barrels, aerials, door cards. The two share their cabin controls and electrics completely, which makes those the parts you can realistically find for an X6 M.
Where they separate is the metal. Flared wings front and rear, bumpers with larger intakes, its own sills and a vented bonnet belong to the M car.
At the front the F86 matches the X5 M F85 exactly: same wings, same bonnet, same bumper, same mirrors. For an M front-end part either model works as a donor, which widens the pool noticeably.
At the back they part again. The F86 has the X6's one-piece tailgate, the F85 the X5's split one. That is where most of the wrong purchases in this family happen.
