With the F48 in 2015 the X1 became what buyers had expected of it all along: front-wheel drive, transverse engine, a taller body, more room in the back. The boot grew to 505 litres and the seating position rose noticeably. Against the rear-driven E84 it is a complete break — only the name carries over.
Mechanically the F48 belongs to the UKL2 family, which puts it closer to the MINI Countryman F60 and the 2 Series Active Tourer than to any other X model. For engines, suspension and underbody components the trail runs there, not to an X3.
The 2019 facelift brought a markedly larger grille, new headlights and revised aprons. That is the line for front-end parts; the body beneath was left alone. The X2 F39 uses the same underpinnings but has its own, lower-drawn body from the A-pillar back.
Door cards are the most rewarding used parts on this car: they sit protected and are usually only damaged during window regulator repairs or by water getting in. Check the trim, because cloth, Sensatec and leather ran alongside each other and the colour follows the donor's interior — here they make up the core of the stock along with washer parts and steering columns.
