With the F32, BMW split the coupé off from the 3 Series in 2013 and gave it its own number. It was more than marketing: the F32 stands wider, sits lower and has a shallower roofline than the F30 it shares its platform and mechanicals with. The track is wider front and rear — which is why the wings are not the same parts, however similar they look.
That is the trap on this model. The F30 and F32 seem close relatives, and for the bonnet and much of the interior they are. For the metal that wraps the wheels they are not.
Doors, rear quarters, roof and the entire tail are coupé-specific. The F36 Gran Coupé and F33 Convertible share the F32's nose and front doors; behind that all three go their own way.
An LCI arrived in 2017 with revised headlights and rear lights. The M4 Coupé F82 brings its own wider wings, its own bumpers and — visible on the car — a carbon fibre roof.
